How do I obtain my ID Card?

BCBS provides a personal website to access things like printable ID cards, claims status, EOB’s and the ability to locate providers. You can register simply by selecting  the “Register” link from the top right corner of the home page www.bluecrossmnonline.com.

Yes! The MCCMS student insurance plan includes medical, dental and vision insurance. Please see Plan Details & Info for more information.

Yes! The student insurance plan covers you when you are off-campus, traveling, on rotations, and studying abroad. Most importantly, always carry your ID card with you. Before traveling, if you have any questions, please contact Student Insurance at mayo@studentinsuranceusa.com or (833) 513-2981 for further assistance.

Students who are enrolled in benefits are eligible to continue coverage until the end of the month in which they graduate, leave school, or are dismissed from their academic programs. For example, if a student graduates on May 15, their benefits will end on May 31.

There is an exception for MCCMS students who are going into residency. Medical students who graduate in May are eligible for benefits until June 30 of the same year to continue coverage between graduation and residency.

To request a Certificate of Coverage, please go to www.bluecrossmnonline.com and log in to your account to access your certificate.

Yes, you will enter your dependent information during the enrollment request process.

For an academic leave of absence, you are able to continue your health insurance coverage as long as you pay your cost sharing premiums.

For any personal leave of absence, coverage during the leave is at the school’s discretion. Please speak to your specific school leadership for more information.

If you withdraw or are dismissed from your program, coverage will terminate at the end of the month in which they unenroll.

If you waived out of the student health insurance plan but lost your health insurance coverage due to an involuntary loss of coverage (i.e., aging out of your parent’s plan, loss of employment, divorce, etc.), you may enroll in the student health insurance plan. If you would like to enroll, please call 833-513-2981 or email  mayo@studentinsuranceusa.com. In your e-mail, include your student ID number, the reason for loss of coverage, and dates of coverage required. Student Insurance will respond with the prorated cost of coverage based on your coverage dates.
